Dalecia Parks is a licensed mental health counselor, receiving her master’s degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University. She has been in the field for over six years. Ms. Parks background in clinical work has included populations such as adolescents, prenatal, post-partum, and families with co-morbid disorders of psychiatric and substance use. She has previously worked with youth in a high-risk jail setting who were presented with severe trauma, foster care placement, mood, thought, and substance use disorders.  Ms. Parks worked alongside the juvenile justice Department in the high-risk jail setting. Since coming to Families First in 2019, she has served in the Child First Program, working with infants and toddlers ages 0+ with their primary caregivers practicing Child Parent Psychotherapy, which she is trained and rostered in. Her current practice with Child First includes treating parents and young children ages 0-5 who have many challenging concerns such as abuse/neglect, domestic violence, post-partum depression, psychiatric disorders, and childhood trauma which have affected their family system, relationships, and daily functioning. Through her extensive work and training she recently completed and was a part of the Perinatal Child Parent Psychotherapy cohort, which she will also be successfully rostered in. She is currently an active member of the Infant Mental Health Association of Florida and has a passion for these at risk/vulnerable families she continues to provide care for. On August 1, 2023, Ms. Parks was promoted to the Clinical Director of Child First.
