Roxanna Childs, MSW, LCSW, CAP

Deputy Director

Roxanna Childs has been deputy director at Families First since 2002 and with the organization since 1998, beginning as clinical director. As deputy director, she oversees all agency client services – six programs with more than 50 employees. She works closely with the CEO and executive leadership team in agency planning and decision-making and provides clinical and HR consultation. While clinical director for Families First, she provided clinical and administrative supervision for 20 staff in an early intervention program.
 
Prior to joining Families First, Ms. Childs served as clinical program director for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Palm Beach County for eight years. She also worked as a social worker at Lake Hospital, providing individual, marital and family therapy, and at the Center for Family Services.
 
She has received training in hypnotherapy, solution-focused approach, client-directed outcome intervention, child-parent psychotherapy, EMDR, addiction treatment, infant mental health, adult anxiety & depression, leadership training, grant writing. She has conducted practitioner trainings in youth mentoring, signs and symptoms of addiction, theory of change, NASW ethics (client rights and confidentiality), and solution-focused theory, to mention a few.
 
Ms. Childs received her BS in social work from Florida State University, MA in liberal arts from Wheaton College and Master’s in Social Work from Barry University.
