Community Denim Day
Wear Jeans, Change Lives.
Friday, April 30th, 2021
Families First created the Denim Day project as a collaborative effort to recognize National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The goal is to remind the entire community of the role we all play in creating safe, healthy futures for our community’s children. Participants donate $5 or more so they can wear jeans to work or wear them at home as a symbol of your support! Funds support Families First programs that have been preventing child abuse in thousands of families for over 30 years.

The Community Denim Project is not just another cause or fundraiser – it is a movement that can collectively make an enormous difference to our county’s most vulnerable – our children. Child abuse prevention requires community partnerships, and this project provides a unique, fun, and inexpensive way to do just that. It also creates an environment of purpose and teamwork within your organization or family.
Families First has successfully been preventing child abuse for more than 30 years by providing needed services to families whose life circumstances leave them ill-equipped to provide safe and loving homes for their children. By providing services in the areas of child abuse prevention, housing, health and behavioral health, families become stable and self-sufficient. For every child protected from abuse, the community saves $105,000 in future costs of hospitalization, special education, juvenile justice and school failure – all aftermaths of abuse.
