Barbara James currently serves as Associate Vice President and Chief Development Officer for Bethesda Hospital Baptist Health Foundation.  Her responsibilities include leading a dedicated team to inspire philanthropy in support of excellence, innovation, community wellness and leadership in healthcare. 

After raising her family in the Pacific Northwest, she returned to her Florida roots in 2017. She is passionate about serving, both personally and professionally, the Palm Beach County community  Barbara is a proud member of Leadership Palm Beach County’s Class of 2019 and serves on the Boards of the Palm Beach County Medical Society and Palm Health Foundation.   Additionally, she is member of both the Impact of the Palm Beaches and Impact 100, the International Women’s Forum Palm Beach, Forum Club of the Palm Beaches, among other service organizations and clubs.    A resident of West Palm Beach’s SoSo neighborhood, when not working, she can be found soaking up the sunshine anywhere near water with her husband, her  two daughters, and Finn, her beloved King Cavalier Spaniel!       

Ms. James holds a degree in Business Management from Christian Brothers University and holds the designation of CPXP (Certified Patient Experience Professional).  She will soon complete her Masters of Science, Management and Leadership from Western Governors University.
