Alex Dobin is the director and head of the HR business advisor team at NextEra Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NEE), a leading clean energy company.

Dobin is responsible for leading a team of human resources professionals that support the over 40 business units that comprise NextEra Energy, Inc., located across the United States and Canada. In this role, he is responsible for leading daily operational HR functions and supporting the strategic initiatives of the enterprise. His focuses include policy development, data & analytical review and solution deployment, talent & succession planning, cultural & engagement strategy, organizational design and change management leadership. He provides counsel regarding employment & labor relations, leadership development, training, mergers & acquisitions, targeted recruiting, and organizational effectiveness.

Dobin was promoted to his current position in May 2023 after serving as a senior HR partner from 2021-2023, an HR business partner from 2016-2021 and a senior HR advisor upon joining NextEra Energy in 2015.

Prior to joining NextEra Energy, Dobin served as the corporate HR manager for North American Programs at Office Depot, Inc., responsible for HR initiatives, program design and implementation within the US retail division. He also worked for the Target Corporation in multiple roles with increasing responsibility in the Human Resources, Investigations, Safety and Assets Protection divisions, ultimately serving as a senior manager for Human Resources and market resource leader.

Dobin is a director of the board of directors for CareerSource Palm Beach County, Florida, a director of the board for Families First of Palm Beach County, a governor of the board of governors for Leadership Palm Beach County, a director of the board for the Pediatric Retinal Research Foundation, president of the Olympia Master Association and a graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County, class of 2021. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Florida Atlantic University and resides in Palm Beach County, Florida, with his wife and two children.
